Wurie FamilyAllow me to introduce you to Dr. and Mrs. Chernoh Wurie!! There are so many great things I could tell you about the Wurie’s. Chernoh is originally from Sierra Leone, West Africa. He came to this country when he was in high school and over the years he worked his way up in the world. He has an incredible success story! He put himself through undergraduate school, earned a masters degree, and then just last year he earned his PhD. He’s a police officer with our local county, he’s an Adjunct Instructor at a couple of the area universities, a published author, and his greatest accomplishment is that he’s married to Jenn. Jenn is originally from Northern Virginia and works for the government. They have an incredibly funny story of how they met. If you ever meet them, ask them to tell you their story. Together Chernoh and Jenn created an organization “Barrels of Hope International” to reach the women of Sierra Leone. The mission of their organization is “To provide the women of West Africa, Sierra Leone’s St. Peters Women’s Community Vocational Center with donations that support vocational skills training and personal evolution.” I could go on and on sharing with you about this amazing couple, but instead I’ll show you a few of the pictures we recently took of them. Check out their awesome African shirts that they brought along to the photoshoot.
